Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How do I find my size?
A. Bracelets (finished length including clasp) are available in sizes with 1/4" increments. The the best way to determine your size is to measure your wrist with a cloth tape measure. Generally, customers add anywhere from 3/4" to 1-1/4" to their wrist size depending on how they like their jewelry to fit.
Bracelet prices reflect a size 7" and shorter. There is a $.50 charge for each 1/2" over 7'' of length ordered. For example, a 7-1/2" bracelet would be $.50 more than the listed price, and a 7-3/4" bracelet would be $1.00 more.
Q. How are the children's bracelets sized?
A. The children's bracelets come in 2 different sizes. The "Baby/Toddler" size is designed to fit from birth to about 5 years of
age. The bracelet is made 4 1/2” with a chain to extend up to 6”. The size of the child will determine how many years it may be worn. If a larger size than 6" is needed, it is no longer considered a “baby” bracelet.
Our "Goldilocks/Little Girl" bracelets are designed to fit girls from 5 years and up. Goldilocks bracelets are made size 6" with a "room to grow" chain which extends up to 7" — enough room to fit her well into her teens.
Q. What type of clasp comes on the bracelets?
A. All bracelets are made with a toggle clasp (except the children's bracelets), unless you request otherwise. Most people find them easy to put on without assistance , and, despite their simplicity, they are very secure. We are happy to substitute a claw clasp, however, at no additional charge. If you prefer a magnet or decorative clasp, there will be a price difference according to the clasp you choose; please call us to discuss these options.
Q. My daughter is going to have another child. Can I add a birthstone crystal to my grandmother bracelet?
A. Yes, there is an $8.00 re-stringing fee per strand and a minimal charge for any new materials used. This price includes the polishing of your bracelet; if the bracelet is extremely tarnished or dirty, a cleaning fee will apply. Another option you may like is adding a charm (for example, the baby shoes) to represent any more children or grandchildren to come.
Q. I like the sweetheart bracelet, but I would like a different charm. Is this possible?
A. Yes, however the "specialty" bracelets are priced according to their materials used. Some charms are interchangeable for no additional charge, while others may cost a bit more.
Q. Can I change the color of the beads or crystals?
A. Yes, if the request is just a matter of changing the color, there is no extra charge. However, if there are several changes you are wanting to make, (for example, if you want a different toggle, charm, and color, etc.), it is no longer considered a "sweetheart bracelet" and a designers fee will be applied. The amount of the fee will be determined at the time of ordering, depending on what kind of and how many changes you are wishing.
Q. I like the family bracelet but would like it made all in gold. Is that possible?
A. Yes and No. Any of the bracelets can be made with gold only; however, many of the decorative findings only come in silver, and most of the charm choices are also in silver only. We have made bracelets using gold beads and clasps with only a few silver findings for accents, and these can be
very attractive. There will be an additional charge for gold bracelets. |
